ROBYN SHRATER SEEMANN – ATARA FORUM, PLAYWRIGHT, THEATER DIRECTOR/PRODUCER, PERFORMER – POTOMAC, MD

Robyn Shrater Seemann is a multi-hyphenated theatre artist: playwright-performer-producer. She is the founder and Producing Artistic Director of Artists Circle (www.artists-circle.com), an all-female professional performing arts company in the Greater Washington, DC area dedicated to creating opportunities and breaking down barriers for Jewish women in the performing arts. Her passion is to use her unique talents to empower women to reach their full potential. 

Robyn delights audiences with live storytelling, performing as a featured storyteller in such venues as at The Deborah Lerner Gross Jewish Cultural Arts Center, Kehillat Pardes Open Mic, Here Happenings for Jewish Women, Arlington’s Festival of the Arts, and Olney Theatre Center’s “Share Your Story” project. She is a writer and performer with Ask Your Local Orthodox Sketch Troupe (LOST), a Jewish women’s sketch comedy troupe. 

Playwriting credits include The Cookbook, which was among the winners of the DMV Q-Fest playwriting festival; Uri and Ora Light the Menorah, which most recently was produced as part of Adventure Theatre’s Winterfest; and Living Waters, which was among the top plays chosen to be presented at the Baltimore Playwrights Festival.  

She is the host and writer of the Shattering The Single Story podcast, sharing stories of beauty, light, love, laughter, frolics and foibles of life as a Jewish woman. 

Robyn loves to share her special blend of writing and performing in her workshops on public speaking, storytellng, and improv. 

Robyn holds a BA in Theatre Arts from Brandeis University.
