Darcie Davida Giborah – vocalist, songwriter, music industry administrator – Modiin, Israel

Darcie (Davida Giborah) Nicole is a vocalist, songwriter, music business consultant, and publicist in the R&B/Soul idiom.  Compared vocally to the likes of Chaka Khan, Teena Marie, Ann Wilson, Etta James, and Mary J. Blige, Davida Giborah is a classically trained coloratura soprano, her earliest inspiration into music comes from her mother Surah Batyah, z”l, a folk artist, and her grandfather Levi Yizchak Vladimer, z”l; a WWII-era jazz bassist who played with Tommy Dorsey and Artie Shaw and was the first Jewish person allowed to perform at the famed Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.  Her grandfather’s cousin was a Metropolitan Opera star; coloratura soprano Roberta Peters, z”l.

Davida Giborah’s 40-year career has included performances and projects with Soul and Jazz luminaries, as well as working alongside top-tier major label executives in Urban music.  As a publicist, she garnered media attention for clients in publications like Billboard, Vibe, Spin, Music Connection, MTV, VH1, plus major-run city newspapers like The New York Times and the Chicago Tribune in cities nationwide.
Davida Giborah moved to Israel on New Year’s Eve 2015/2016 and got married in 2016, and adopted the mitzvah of Kol Isha. Soon after, she joined the ATARA team.  She works as an admissions and marketing representative for all English-related activities at Rimon School of Music in Ramat Hasharon, Israel and volunteers time as a vocal instructor to young adults in Jerusalem.  She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Business and Management, Voice Principal, from the world-renowned Berklee College of Music.
